Lignin Sulfonate Lignin sulfonate is a product that is derived from the lignin that naturally binds cellulose fibers together to give trees and plants firmness.  These products are a safe and economical alternative to petroleum and salt-based products.  Lignin sulfonates have a natural adhesive property when moist.  When applied to rock or dirt roads, the solution coats the individual road particles with a thin adhesive-like film that binds the particles together.  It acts as a dispersant, allowing the particles to pack closer together for a stronger, more durable surface.  Water uptake by the road bed is greatly reduced and the binder is less likely to be washed away by the rain.   Soybean Oil  The Soybean Oil offers many of the advantages of other road oils, without being harmful to the environment. In addition, we are supporting a natural Iowa resource! While a little more expensive, it is a dust ELIMATOR rather thena dust suppressant, as is the Lignin Sufonate and it is more effective on high traffice roads with higher speeds. Soybean Oil is only applied once a season. This can be applied either during the first application window or the second season application window. To receive our dust control product, you will need to fill out our application and the county dust control permit.
